Yesterday was the warmest day so far this year. And I had the day off! So what to do?????? Well, I spent a few hours knitting the neck for my Cumulus. I just COULND'T STAND the thought of it lying any longer on the couch as a big, brown, woolen pile without getting any further. Now I just need to make the sleeves, and it will be finished. It's going to be so great! I made it 4 inches longer, to make it warm my buttocks as well. I like that.
The only sensible comment for that activity should be "Have you lost your mind? Sitting inside knitting the warmest, thickest cardigan ever on the warmest day this year!" - and, well, maybe. It was just so nice to knit.... But I did get outside seeing the sun as well!
It was a long, warm walk from Frederiksberg to Ophelia Beach (alongside the harbour) to see the sand sculptures. They were so pretty! I was very impressed how all this was made from sand. A child standing behind me asked his parents what the sphinx was and why the nose was broken? I felt so much like
Look! Some Copenhagen towers!
When I arrived, I believed people were forming a line for the ice-cream stand and just entered. Going out I discovered that you really had to buy a ticket. Since I'm very honest (often in a very stupid/naïve way) and really liked the sculptures, of course I wanted to pay. This resulted in me being asked to pay double price (honestly - am I the only one willing to see this place by myself?). So much for being honest.....
This lady was supposed to catch bad dreams in her spiderweb. According to the sign. But look - the Opera is right behind! It was sooooo pretty!
Oh well - and then I had a lovely, huge, tasty icecream-cone! In Tivoli, made by Svaneke Icecream dairy. Delicious! I had 3 balls of icecream - gooseberry, liquorice and coffee. But I had a reason for celebration. It was my first "proper" icecream this year!
So in the end, I guess I squeezed every drop of delight out of this day off! I'll work for the next 4 days.
