Nye strømper / New socks
The first thing this year is done. It's for me! Actually, it is part of my Christmas present.
The yarn is locally dyed in Ann Arbor and bought in the yarn shop there. It was so pretty, I had to cast on a pair of socks on my way home on the plane.
Fortunately, I just bought a knitting magazine with a sock pattern. How lucky was that?
The pattern was written for 4 mm needles, and since I used 2.5 mm needles, I had to cast on extra stitches, but then it worked really well!
I cast on 70 stitches instead of 49, did the standard heel and toe, and then it was actually quite easy. The pattern is knit/purl with a lovely rib-effect. Turned out really nicely! The socks weigh 85 grams.
This girl has visited me over the weekend. So nice and cozy! Maybe she needs to practice holding the sock still when photographed.......
