Today we went to Tartu. The old capital of Estonia and the city with the first ever European university. A very, very beautiful town!
We went to the museum and looked at the history and fabrics of Estonia. (I have so many photos of mittens, but that won't be today......) Afterwards, we went to the hotel, and had time for a walk. The town has a music-festival, so that we saw several tents with dancers in local costumes.
The national costumes here in Estonia are very beautiful and colorful, as you can see!
This must be the town hall, or so we agreed. We also visited a nice souvenir-shop with mugs decorated with colors and patterns from national costumes. We also found a sushi-restaurant. Lovely!
Finally, we also found a lovely yarn-shop! We got good guidance from a nice lady at the hotel. She recommended this one, and she wasn't kidding. Great linen/cotton, a lot of Italian and Spanish yarns and even a sale on rosewood needles!
Now my suitcase is overflowing.......
