It was really fantastic visiting the Harry Potter studios, so here is a bit more about that. It is located well outside London, and you have to buy tickets in advance, but it is so much worth it.
We started in the Great Hall of Hogwarts. The only thing lacking was the magical ceiling (of course). They had teacher-mannequins wearing the original costumes up front, and we even saw the sorting hat.
Everything is located in a giant building holding the different set-ups and stuff shown here and there. It is quite amazing to see, when you imagine Hogwarts as a real place with all the hallways and offices and then see how reality is bits and pieces here and there, put together for a film.
The staircase to Dumbledore's office was there.
One of the funniest things was the paintings of all the sleeping earlier Hogwarts headmasters. What if portraits were still made this way? Not incredible charming, but I really enjoyed myself imagining this.
The paintings above the staircases in the movies were also on exhibition. They show people taking part in the production of the movies, and all the painting were made especially for Harry Potter. It was so impressive!
Ma Weasley's self-knitting knitting project was shown too. My niece did think I needed one of these, but I think it's a bit like cheating. Really.
Her sweaters with the big letters, on the other hand, are really nice.
They had a well-assorted shop with lots of stuff, and we ended up spending 3-4 hours at the place because there were so much to see. You could easily spend double of that time!
So my very warmest recommendations of this place.
Det ser simpelthen så spændende ud.
