Ikke med i planen / Not part of the plan
Indtil tiden så gik i stå i en time pga. tordenvejr i Chicago. Tordenvejr derovre skal man ikke spøge med, så det er jo fint at sikkerheden kommer først.
Men det var irriterende ikke at nå det næste fly.
We squeezed the last drops of coziness out of Thursday. The suitcase got packed with a bit of trouble. We went to the airport. We cried. We made plans for next times. I got in the plane, and everything was on time. Until time stopped for an hour due to a thunderstorm in Chicago. Thunderstorms are no joke, so it's good that our safety came first.
But it was really annoying not catching the next plane.
Hos bageren så jeg skoene. Imponerende!
Fortunately, I had packed for a possible delay and ende up on a motel next to my old friend, the Asian market. Unfortunately, the bookstore didn't have the Japanese Vivian Høxbro book anymore, but it was nice looking through the pattern books.
In the bakery, I saw these shoes. Impressive!
Afterwards, I took the train to town with my backpack and my rather heavy bag. Searching for a yarn shop that apparently closed. There were fighters in the air, which was very impressive and incredibly noisy.
I spend a lot of time on the stations and had time to read my book and knit the hat, but apart from that, it was quite warm and heavy with the bags.
Nu er jeg så hjemme. Uden kuffert. Strikkekrimier HAR jeg dog fået med hjem. Også min fine fødselsdagsgave. Det er nu dejligt at være hjemme.
So when I finally reached downtown, I was so exhausted that I just had lunch before heading directly to the airport.
Now I'm back home. Without my suitcase. I DID manage to bring home the knitting mysteries. Also my beautiful birthday gift. It's good to be home.
