Marked / Market
When going abroad it's always fun checking out the supermarkets to see what exotic stuff they sell.
This time, I've even been to the Farmer's market! First the gigantic Eastern Market in Detroit. It is HUGE! They have some very big inside areas but also a lot of stalls outside. Not to mention the shops in the area around.
There were flowers. Both for bouquets and for planting at home!
They had gigantic vegetables - especially the tomatoes and onions were amazingly huge. I bought blue potatoes (very exotic!) and was a bit disappointed when they tasted like - - - potatoes. Nothing else.
Vi skulle iøvrigt ind til byen for at sejle i baderinge på floden.
Men ak. De lejede ikke baderinge ud den dag! Det så ellers helt vildt sjovt ud. Der var mange med egne baderinge.
Yesterday, we went to the Farmers Market here in Ann Arbor. So that I could see Amish people. THAT is very exotic in my opinion! Most often, they sell organic things, and in the supermarket, the eggs say "Amish" to show they are organic.
We were also going to town in order to float on tubes down the river.
But alas. They didn't rent out tubes that day! It did look fun, though. A lot of people brought their own tubes.
Heldigvis kunne de også bruges i poolen, og min nevø blev helt god til at komme op i den ude på vandet.
We walked back to the city to get some lunch and found a place with cheap tubes! Unfortunately, it started raining after we inflated the first one, so it was only my niece getting one ride.
Fortunately, we could use them in the pool as well, and my nephew really learned to climb it in the middle of the water.
Sjældent har man mødt en hund der er så sulten! Han er altid klar på lidt lækkert. Han ELSKER min mindste nevø og finder sig i absolut alt. Formentlig fordi han er den person i husstanden der giver ham flest godbidder.
Last night was my final evening here. We went to have ice cream. The "poor" dog (who got his own cup of ice cream!) waited outside the door, but could look sadly through the door for his humans.
I've never met a dog this hungry! He is always ready to have a bite. He LOVES my youngest nephew and let him do absolutely (almost) everything. Possibly because he is the one person giving most treats in this house.
I also finished a really cool, knitted hat. You'll see it tomorrow. Now I'll get the last day up and running before the plane awaits tonight. The day started well so far. With the dog under the bed. The cute dog.....
