Fortunately, I'm very, very stubborn, which means my new sweater actually finished yesterday! (The top I wanted to sew went in the closet.....) The second sleeve was knitted on and the last ends sewn, but it took me 1.5 Harry Potter movies to get it done. This sweater has SO MUCH finishing to do!
But then it turned out really, really beautiful. With all these kilometers of garterstitch on needles size 3 mm. I really love it, and I'm glad I made it a bit bigger. I didn't want a short, tight thing, so I made the bits on top and on the sides a few rows longer. I didn't have enough of the main color, but found a bit more in Haderslev.
The sleeve-parts are knitted together on the top and sewn together at the bottom. They are made with 4 colors, in order to use as much of the yarn included as possible. It works well, and the seam with the knitting looks really nice. The sewing turned out pretty as well, although it by no means is my favorite.
The knitted seam on top of the sleeve continues on the shoulder. It looks really nice with all the green stripes, but then Annette Danielsen knows her stuff.
It took me almost 1 year to knit it, and the weight is just 345 grams. You should be able to multiply this weight with some factor if it is very difficult to make!
I have made sure my brother and sister-in-law know how much I loved the present and that it is done. What if they need inspiration for my next gift?
