My female budgie was getting quite old and not completely well, when she was send for baby-sitting. So she was put there with the information that she might die. Which she did.
My male budgie is not that old - about 1 year, and since I really hate seeing a sad, lonely budgie, there was no doubt that he was to have a new "lady". Instead of going to the pet shop, I got the possibility to buy - not just one, but TWO birds, 2 siblings who are very tame and happy to go flying. It is really a change compared to the "old" one (who is actually twice the age of the young ones) who buy no means wants to move outside the safe walls of his nice cage, and who really hates hands.
So now I'll have to see who learns most from whom. They are definitely not boring!
