Behind the mysterious headline is the socks for my nephew! Size GIANT and extra long. Sigh. Do you think it took forever?
But they came with me to Bornholm. They were actually the main knitting project, and slowly they grew. The heel of the second sock was started at the "Hammerknude", with this ship in the background.
Johan Bülow laver som bekendt lakrids. Dejlig lakrids!
As you may know, Johan Bülow is making and selling liquorice. Lovely liquorice! His first shop is in Svaneke on Bornholm, and this is were the socks were photographed, since they look a lot like chocolate with stripes of liquorice! (They do!)
They were not done at the time, but that doesn't matter.
Eventually they were finished, though, and here they are - lying so beautifully in the morning sun with was drying the dew from the rocks. Softens your heart.
A few facts? 2x2 ribbing using needles size 2.5 mm. The yarn is wollmeise in the colors Feldmaus and - I think - some kind of iron. (26 Fe). I used a total of 175 grams, so it was actually great that I did the stripes. Wouldn't have had enough yarn in one skein!
These socks will now wait to go with me to Ann Arbor in 1 month. These socks really get to travel around the world!
