Hun fik dejligt mange strikkegaver.
Yesterday, I went to celebrate Ann-Jeanet, who turned 50. To say the least, it was amazing! She had baked so many different, yummy cakes, and I've actually never seen so many different at once before. Besides at a bakery. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of the cakes, but they were delicious!
She got a lot of nice knitter-presents.
Ann-Jeanet has some super-powers. She MUST have super powers! On every table was a small basket with yarn and needles, and every guest was expected to make a square at least 2x2 inches in size. A lot of the women were knitting at home, and had no trouble squeezing out a square, but the men started knitting, too! It was so nice, and everyone really were enthusiastic. She will use the squares as a memory of this day, and I think the idea is just brilliant!
Apart from the fact that I have no idea how to make everybody knit.....
This square was SO pretty! I do think it's made changing the color every row, and then having all knit stitches in one color and all purl in another. Besides that, it's just knit 5, purl 5, but constantly knitting 2 rows from the same side, changing color every row. If you know what I mean.
I need to test it, since it's really neat!
This was my square. I didn't want to make one in garter stitch.
Well, but today I'm also going to a combined birthday and becoming a doctor party. Her wishes are money for organisations like Doctors without Borders and hospital clowns. It is for the best purposes, and I did donate money to Stella, whom I've worked with and whom I can only say positive stuff about.
But I do think it is so DEPRESSING giving a receipt as a gift!
So I made a name tag for her white-coat. The letters could have been a bit sharper, but I'm not that trained in Fimo-clay. I hope she likes it!
