Göteborg - igen! / Again!

For fjerde gang dette efterår har jeg været i Göteborg! Denne gang til skandinavisk møde med CF lægerne. Turen startede med at jeg så denne "yndighed" i vinduet på Malmö centralstation. Lussekatter smager sygt godt, men altså - som dragt? 

For the fourth time this fall, I've been to Gothenburg! This time for the Scandinavian meeting with CF doctors. The trip started with this "beauty" in a window at Malmö central station. Lussekatter taste really good, but really? As a costume?

Turen blev ikke helt som planlagt, for om morgenen var der ikke meget varme i huset, så undulaterne måtte lige flyttes over til mine meget flinke venner, og jeg måtte finde en ny togbillet. Men alt løste sig - varmen er nu fikset og huset dejligt varmt da jeg kom hjem igen. 

The trip didn't start as planned. When I woke up, there wasn't a lot of heat in my house, so I had to move the birds to my very nice friends and find a new train ticket. But everything went well - the heat is fixed and the house was nice and warm when I got back home. 

Denne gang var vi et nyt sted, så jeg fik set nogle nye huse og lys! Der er altså bare så hyggeligt i Göteborg!

This time, the meeting was in a new place, so I got to see some new houses and lights! Gothenburg is a really nice city!

Jeg fik også strikket en del i "Elsa-farverne". Jeg tror faktisk det nok skal blive fint!

I also got to knit quite a bit with the "Elsa-colors". I do think this will turn out nice!

Lige inden jeg skulle hjem nåede jeg ind forbi Göteborgs Te- & Kaffehandel, som ligger lige ved siden af stationen, og som plejer at have julekaffe med peberkagesmag. Den smager så godt! 

HVIS du kommer til Göteborg, så kig derind. Der er så hyggeligt og de har så mange fine og lækre ting!

On the way back, I managed to visit Göteborgs Te- & Kaffehandel, which is located right next to the station. They usually have Christmas coffee with "pepper-cake" taste. It's so good! (And it's spicy cookies, not a lot of pepper!)

Det allervigtigste som skete i Göteborg skete først efter mødet. Der er en ny medicin for cystisk fibrose som stort set alle lande i Europa har - bortset fra Sverige. To gange har de sagt nej, og i går skulle de så svare på firmaets tredje ansøgning. Det var vildt spændende mens vi sad og ventede, faktisk, men heldigvis sagde de ja! Det var totalt et glas champagne værd, og nu glæder jeg mig bare til at vores patienter kan få lov at starte med det her så de kan få det bedre. 

Men den patient jeg tænkte mest på, og som jeg drømte om i nat, er ham som ikke kan få det, fordi hans mutationer ikke passer til medicinen. Jeg håber vi finder på noget til ham også.  

The most important thing that happened in Gothenburg, happened after the meeting. There is this new cystic fibrosis medicine that almost all European countries have - except Sweden. They said no twice, and yesterday, they would be answering the third application from the company. It was so exciting sitting there waiting, and then they said yes! It was so worth a glass of champagne, and now I'm just looking forward to letting our patients starting this treatment, making them better. 

But the patient I thought most about, and whom I dreamed about during the night, is the one who can not have it, since his mutations don't fit. I hope we will have a plan for him as well.
