I won a prize in Maja's give-away. It arrived yesterday, and just look at this! A wonderful little bag of monsters (I love it!) and some great stitch markers. The right kind of heavy and in the most beautiful blue colour. Thank you so much, Maja!
Also, I received a reward from Helene. Thank you so much! I am to tell you 7 things about me and then pass it on to others. I will do the first, but not the latter. Guess it has been around already.
This time I will tell you 7 work-related things about me.
1) I have the best-looking clogs in all of Hvidovre Hospital.
2) Actually, I get a lot of comments on my clogs! Even from strangers met in the hallway. I guess they really are very shiny.
3) I enjoy suggesting "alternative" names when attending child-birth. Funny enough, though, no-one ever agreed to Ambrosius yet....
4) The head nurse of the department keeps telling me how she thinks of a bottle of rum whenever she meets me. I'm beginning to feel a bit worried! (But I know that she has seen me running round with a bottle of rum a few times, related to the Cuba hats)
5) I'm ever so happy and proud to be the person who carried all your knitted and crocheted blankets into the neonatalward. I really love the joy they bring!
6) Yesterday I did the round on a small baby with withdrawal symptoms due to the mother's drug abuse. It always hurts me to see these babies, and I got the strong urge to knit something warm and soft for the baby. Silk and cashmere (although I am aware that not everything can be cured by knitting).
7) If I was not to stop working in the pediatrics department in 9½ months, the neonatal ward would be drowning in knitted stuff....

hello christine, you're a dear! especially when running around with your bottle of rum :) i love your sense of humor and the joy you share in your blog, even if life isn't always kind. where will you be in 9 1/2 months?
SvarSletDorina - I will be going "back" to another hospital that I worked in for 9½ years. Will be nice, but no more babies....
