Gurli Gris / Pegga Pig
The skirt is done! It didn't take long to sew, but it took an annoying amount of time when I started off having to undo the first seam. (Then I found my pins!)
The squares were sewn together and had a crochet border last Saturday, which was also the day when I bought the pink fabric. I needed to wash both parts (to prevent them from shrinking later on) and my life is so boring that I only get to wash my laundry on my days off. I made it!
After I cut all the pieces, it looked like this.
I decided that it should have 3 crochet stripes. It is kind of asymmetric, but I think that when you are 3 years old, it is hard to have an elastic skirt sitting entirely right, and then I thought that with 3 stripes/parts, it is impossible to make it sit right, and so it cannot sit in a wrong way.
I used 60 grams of yarn for all the squares. I do think it feels like I used MUCH more for doing the crochet bit.
Now it's mailed already, and then it is exciting if they like it. It is pink and has Pegga Pig on it, so I'm sure the child likes it!
Just to make sure that people will know that it is homemade, I also sewed a label on it. It has been a fun and nice project......
