A wonderful weekend in my friends summerhouse has ended. We had such a good time!
On Saturday, we went to Nykøbing (in between the rain showers) and went crazy in the yarns shops. There are 2 shops, and we visited both twice, so we really did fulfill our craving for yarn shopping.....
The first shop was Bettygarn, which is located at no. 8, Skolegade. What a lovely shop! There was the ordinary yarn and quite a lot Italian Lana Grossa in new, yummy qualities.
In here, I ended up spending most of my money........
The very best squeezing-yarn was this "Colorato", which is wool already knit like a very thin i-cord, so each skein holds 50 grams and 135 meters for needles size 6 mm! The yarn is very light and warm, and the colors are amazing! I just can't wait turbo-knitting a sweater for me on big needles. Just need to find out what model to make!
This pattern was a must-have! The smallest girl in our family has a dad who is crazy about trains, so this sweater is just ideal for her!
I also bought the yarn, but I'm not quite sure if I end up using this yarn or something else.
(Mystisk)
I also got the pattern and yarn for a beautiful boy's vest. I know exactly who will get this, and it shouldn't take too long to knit it?
We had the very best service in this shop, and the owner wondered if we could have a knitting-weekend like this, including visiting her, every month???????? (Wonder why)
The other shop, Mille Marengs, is located in No. 5, Slotsgade. Didn't take us many minutes walking from one to the other.....
The two shops are quite different, and this shop had not only it's own brand of yarn, but also quite a lot of Danish yarn, Icelandic wool and Kauni.
We had the very best service, and when we visited the second time, 10 minutes after closing hour, she opened the door just for us (while laughing a little) to let us shop the last necessities.
In there, I got some very important stuff. For instance, the last skeins of milk yarn (with a discount). Apparently, it's out of production, which is sad!
I also found some very pretty dog-buttons looking like Bailey, some other pretty buttons and the REALLY beautiful "Made by moster" labels.
For our next knitting weekend, I'm totally in for another trip to town........
