I spent the weekend knitting a lamp shade, among other things. As a birthday present for my niece.
I started out with the skeleton of a lamp shade, some wollmeise DK and a needle. Combined with a very loose idea.
The first model wasn't that great. I made some holes at the bottom, and it didn't look very sharp, so I re-did it. The second time, I knew what I wanted, and by then it was fast!
It's knitted while measuring on the shade skeleton, and the good thing about a knitted thing is that it can be stretched to fit exactly, which was what I did.
At the bottom, it's stockinette stitch, at the top cables.
Lidt fakta?
It ended up quite well in my opinion. My niece likes green, and I really hope she will stick to that color for the next 10 years too.......
Some facts? The lamp shade skeleton was bought in Lagerhaus in Malmø, I used needles size 3.5 mm and 100 grams of wollmeise.
A fun and quick project!
