Garn i Basel / Yarn in Basel
During the lunch breaks, I had time to go see a bit of the city. What better to see than the yarnshops?
The first one is called "Wollare" and is located quite close to the river. Not a very big shop, but very, very nice. Everything was sorted according to color, which was kind of fun, since the individual qualities were located quite far apart.
I bought a bit of mix-color cotton and some pink and peach for stripes. Furthermore some green striped, just because it was so pretty.....
The bag was really nice and practical, and I discovered that I actually know enough German words to communicate a bit. That is great!
The other one is called "Zum Roten Faden" and is located a bit further away. (Not further than a good walk!) It was a bit bigger and also held a lot of Lana Grossa, like the first one.
It was exactly as cozy as yarn shops come. They were also better at English than I was at German....
I discovered that I still have my yarn-shopping super-powers! Yummy wool/alpaca for a sweater. Bought, because it looks like paper-yarn but is so soft. The trick is that it was slightly feltet. And then a ball of lace-yarn jumped into my bag. Just because "it's so pretty". Sigh.
