Niecen / The niece

"Men hvornår henter du mig i børnehaven, Moster?"

My 2 youngest nephews already had their fun with yarn dyeing. Now the niece had her turn. Actually, she invited herself last sunday. "Well, Moster! (aunt) - when am I going to visit you and make the Christmas-hearts?"
It turned out this monday was very good for that.
Her younger brother would like to come as well, but it wasn't really his turn right now. "But, when will you pick me up in kindergarten, Moster?" I told him I have to work a lot and don't really have time for that. He looked rather worried and must have been thinking, because suddenly his face lit up and he said "But when you pick me up - THEN you don't have to work!" (Problem solved! Hoorray!)
Back to the yarn and the hearts. The niece chose 5 colours, and her work can be seen at the top. Rather well done, don't you think?
But I had a yarn-blanket to dye as well, and my work can be seen in the middle picture. Pretty .... alternative, right? But with a guarantee for happy, colourfull toes!
So now we are 2 persons waiting very eagerly to see our finished socks....

We also folded a few hearts.
We worked together drawing the lines and cutting the paper, but she did most of the folding herself.
I was rather impressed!
We found the patterns in a book I bought in a supermarket once, but you can find some patterns here.
(The heart with the Star of Bethlehem is extremely difficult!)

  2. Thank you. I'll tell her.
She wants to be able to do EVERYTHING and wasn't very happy when I told her to wait a few more years before making the Bethlehem star.

  4. Picasso-tæer? Det lyder godt!
Siden med hjerterne er vældig god. Jeg har hentet mange skabeloner derfra! Specielt den med isbjørnen er rigtig flot.
