Yesterday, I was going to yet another ph.d. defense. Of course I would like to knit something, and this time it ended up with a bow tie. I found the pattern on Ravelry, and it was really easy and quick to knit.
The pattern said it should fit around the neck + 2 inches, when judging if the length of the middle piece was okay. So that's what I did - slightly stretched! Knitted stuff tend to grow a bit.
Then I found a video on youtube and then bound the very first bow tie in my life. It's a bit tight, but otherwise okay, I think.
The yarn is "Drops loves you 2", and I used 35 grams using size 5.5 mm needles. My sisters comment was to ask if it's itchy? With a nice, tight, woolen bow tie and a sweaty neck the answer is YES!
