The next pair of socks is done - the ones for my sister. She just "moved away from home" and will stay in another state with her new job for 6 months before the rest of the family joins her, so I wanted to make some extra nice ones for her. Hopefully to make her feel my love and support.
I found the pattern on Ravelry. It's called "Impossibly Possible" and is in mosaic knitting. It is SO pretty, and perfect for a mix of Zauberball and Arwetta!
The pattern is for socks knit upwards from the toe, which I don't like, but then I just made them top-down instead.
The ribbing on top is in Arwetta. Because I wasn't sure I had enough yarn, the heel and toe are Zauberball. (And that's the rule. The knitter decides!)
Since I'm pretty stubborn and NOT a cheater, there is a bit of one of them when you actually can't tell the 2 threads apart. I'm not quite sure that my sister really appreciates HOW difficult it was making it right when you can't see what you're doing, but believe me! There is EXTRA LOVE in those 1.5 inches! (Really!) (It did help that this very bit of sock was knit in good company and with cheesecake.)
In total, the socks weigh 80 grams. As usual, I used size 2.5 mm needles, and as usual, the next pair is on the needles. These finished ones are hopefully well over the Atlantic by now, although they will be a few days late for the birthday, unless a post-miracle happens.
