I went to 2 different meetings in Stockholm. First on Thursday, where it was a company paying, and I flew up. The meeting ended around 4.30 p.m., and it's wonderful now that it's still light! I loved going for a walk down to "Gamla Stan", seeing both the touristy streets and some of the streets that feel a bit more real. They are frightfully narrow......
Han er SÅ sjov, den svenske kok. Jeg prøver at overbevise nogle af mine patienter om, at deres svenske lyder præcis som han snakker, selvfølgelig kun hvis de brokker sig over dansk.
I went to "Science Fiction Bokhandel" (they even have a shop in Malmö) - a fun bookstore with all kinds of weird stuff from games and movies. I even found this package!
He is SO much fun, the Swedish chef. I try convincing certain patients that Swedish sounds like he is speaking, but of course only if they complain about Danish.
I kaffen? Tak, men nej tak.
This temptation didn't get me either. A "Semla" is a kind of cake with cardamom which has both some marzipan and vanilla whipped cream inside.
Put in the coffee? Thanks, but no thanks.
The meeting on Friday was in "Svenska Läkaresellskapet" (the Swedish doctor's association) - WOW, for a pretty, old house! Part of the meeting was on the street corner due to a fire alarm.
And then I went home. By train. Since the hospital was paying for the travel home, I wasn't allowed to fly. But it went well, although it takes a few hours!
I love going to Stockholm now and then, although I'm really, really happy that I'm living in Copenhagen.....
