Lystfisker / Angler
The sweater for my nephew is done! (Somersaulting down the pavement. Mentally.) The last sleeve was finished last night and sewn on today.
The model is by the Danish designer Annette Danielsen and is called "Angler". I made it with "Roma" from Hjertegarn, which is cotton and acrylics. It is washable and very soft and don't wear down easily. I used almost 15 skeins, which is what I bought, and even though it was 2 different dye lots, you can't tell.
The model is really cool, and the pattern well written. When I finished the sleeve last night, while being at a summer party, several people admired the sweater, and most of them would really like me to knit this sweater for them. One of them wondered why I would make something this big for a 13 year old. But of course I would!
I sucked up all the admiration and probably knitted a bit faster.....
The rib-patterned shoulder-part is a nice detail. The neckline is done with turn-and-wrap rows, and as a result, the ribbing at the neck sort of grows out from the ribbing further down. A classical Annette Danielsen detail!
The bubbles are totally cool in my opinion. Perfect for a teenage-sweater!
As you can guess, I'm totally happy with this sweater, and I feel quite confident that my nephew will love it too!
