Nå. Turen gik gennem hyggelige Ein Karem, hvor jeg mødte hunden her!
There are not many days left here in Israel, and I'm busy seeing the last bits. Yesterday, I went to a totally differente hospital to meet some doctors working with a different kind of patients. (Well. Still something to do with the lungs) The hospital is only 1.6 km away, so of course I walked! I just kind of forgot the fact that 1.6 km uphill with lots of stairs isn't something you do in 20 minutes.....
Anyway. I passed through nice Ein Karem, meeting this dog!
This must be the world's best view post for a curious dog, but I was a bit nervous thinking of whether it would jump down on me.... Fortunately, it didn't!
I climbed all the stairs, and when I was going back home again, it was pure pleasure walking downhill.
A point on my wishing list was seeing the Western Wall tunnels, so I went there in the evening. While I was waiting for the tour to start, I cast on for a sock and challenged my motor skills by standing on top of this grate (you could lean against the wall very nicely at this place!). Fortunately, I didn't drop anything - not even a stitch!
The trip through the tunnel was not at all what I thought, but still extremely exciting.
You follow the wall around the temple-mount all the way under the Muslim neighborhood and can see some of the ancient stones and streets found there. The huge stones just fitted together - there is no mortar! - and were sitting so nice and close that nothing can be put between them. It is so impressing.
Hvad gjorde man uden bekymringer?
One last look at the Wailing wall in the lamp-light, and then I needed to go back to the hospital. I already started wondering 1) how to pack everything, 2) how to take Everything with me on the bus to the other end of the city and 3) how to get it back to the train in time for my flight in the evening.
What would you do without worries?
Sikke mange udfordringer.
