Papegøje-sjal / Parrot-shawl
Endnu mere, selvfølgelig, i lige de her farver.
The parrot-shawl is done. Completely done! Tassels and all.
I'm really satisfied. It is so pretty! It didn't look very big, but after wash and block it has the perfect size for a shawl.
The model is called "Parrot" and is by Helga Isager from the book "Bird Collection". The name is perfect, since it really looks like a parrots wings! Especially with these specific colors, of course.
I didn't pick the colors myself. Last year, my friend in Esbjerg gave me a present. She bought it in Christel Seyfarth's shop. It was a bag of 9 little skeins in these colors. So perfect together! All I needed to do was to grab a random (almost. But we discussed that already.....) skein and just knit on. I used 110 grams, so I have enough yarn for another shawl, if I feel like it. It is so pretty...... Maybe I need one of these myself?
The shawl is for my former colleague, who was really helpful with information when I was going to Beijing last year. She had a photo last night of the shawl, and was really happy! She will have it on Friday. I'm not sure if I should wash it one more time before handing it over? Still smells a bit from the spinning oil.....
With this shawl done, I'm almost through all the stuff I promised to do for others. Still have a pair of socks for a niece and a scarf left. THEN I'm going to knit something for me! I did promise to wear the finished Christmas dress on December 24th, so I know what to knit..............
