I'm still knitting socks...... I have a feeling of not being so many pairs behind by now (but still 3-4 pairs), and I'm really working on it!
The next pair is for my nephews wife. Her birthday was in the end of August (I'm getting a little closer to the present time. A very nice feeling!), and the pattern was something I saw at Jane's in Ho. Just knit and purl, but with a very funny effect for the leg!

Do you have an octopus in your life? A nice, soft one that will never get smelly. Or messy.
It's actually so fresh that the pattern just got published!
If you don't have an octopus, then seize the opportunity today. Maybe octopusses will become the new owls?

Fanø - blusen / Fanø - the cardigan
When I was going to Fanø, nothing could be more appropriate than starting "Fanø" for my sister-in-law. An entire weekend spent on Fanø! How much can you knit in 3 days?
I did bring plenty of yarn. AND all the sizes of knitting needles needed.
The project was started. A lot of knitting was performed!
The consequences of the little details of size 2.5 mm needles and more than 300 stitches appeared to me over the days, since I only knit 4 centimeters. But at least it's started now!

Forsinket / Delayed
Strictly speaking, my oldest nephew celebrated his birthday in July, when I was busy painting and moving and knitting a shawl for his sister. So the birthday socks were non-existent. Until now!
They are made with wollmeise twin, the color is Tambopata, and it's ribbing anywhere you look.
Really nice socks, and I feel quite sure he will be happy with them! They are made on needles size 2.5 mm and weigh 125 grams.
I was attending a meeting lasting longer than the second sock, so I happened to start on bonus-socks for his daughter. They told me, that her first socks sit REALLY tight on her (fat) baby-legs, and that she would really like new socks. It doesn't really take very long to produce a tiny sock like that!

Vest
When on Fanø, I went to another workshop too, this one with Ruth Sørensen. We learned to start in one corner and end up with something nice and functional.
It was a lot of fun! Ruth brought a lot of nice examples. Most made in garter-stitch in color-changing yarns, and started in one corner or the other, and all models looked really great.
We learned to start 2 corners at the same time, and since I seem to have a profound need to make something useful from (some) workshops, I just had to make a vest using her idea.......
(Iøvrigt - lynlåsen er købt her.
It ended up having a red zipper, just like Johanne suggested. She was so right! Finding a short zipper for a coat wasn't easy, but I found one here.)
The vest was started with 2 triangles, one in each bottom corner. I just remnants from the baby blanket, so it's made with Cascade Eco + on needles 4 mm, which were the ones I brought. It ended up like a size 1-1.5 years, and it's a bit compact. But that only makes it warmer.
The total weight is 120 grams, and I think it will go to the youngest lady in the family, although she really needs to grow a bit before she can use it!

Garn / Yarn
You already guessed how I couldn't go to Fanø without buying yarn. Actually, I couldn't even wait until I reached Jane in Ho!
In the big tent with shops, I found a place with the most amazing yarn. 12 kinds of yarn dyed at once, leading to different shades. We've seen fancy yarn with different kinds of yarn changing, and mostly acrylics, but this is different. It is 12 little skeins together next to each other, and it's mostly wool. It is sooooooooo yummy!
My excuse is, that I'm invited to a 50 years birthday in November, and I'm totally convinced that the birthday girl will be ever so happy for something knitted. She likes blue, so everything just led to the next......
At Jane's, there were lovely discount. For instance on Blue Face Leicester from Fleece Artist, which is THE most beautiful yarn!
I found the gorgeous red/orange/pink and some beautiful blue/green/grey. Both colors were in my stash before. Both combinations were given away to nephews/nieces in need. Both colors are missed. But this time I'm not allowed to give it away! This is for me.
The sock yarn was the only skein in this color. Pretty, huh? (And you feet will be clearly visible. Even in the fog)
The most crazy thing was bought when on Fanø. A piece of Swedish history and culture, that you will only get one chance to knit.
A Bohus-sweater! It is made using needles size 2.5 mm, and I'm not quite sure what I did when buying it......

Since the technique works again, I'd better tell a bit more about the trip......
For the first time, the Knitting Festival banner could be seen already in Esbjerg, before taking the ferry. We left Copenhagen Friday evening, and of course we arrived later in Esbjerg, but everything went well.
Det SKAL man altså have!
Even though it was late, we had time for the gift game. You should always have time for that! We had a mountain of gifts, and in some fantastic way, all three of as had exactly, what we wanted most.
It was a great game!
I had 2 workshops on Saturday. First with Lene Holme Samsøe. It was overwhelming seeing a giant stack of her designs and seeing her models "live".
They really look great, not only the models for kids, but also for adults.
In the afternoon, I went to a workshop with Ruth Sørensen and learned to start in a corner and just knit. It was really funny, and the models ended up very well.
Even though we didn't have a lot of time in-between everything, we managed to go to Sønderho and also to visit the giant tent in Nordby to see all the shops. It was so amazing.
No matter how hard I wanted to wait and buy the yarn at Jane's, there were TOO many incredible temptations. I'll show you some of it one of the coming days.
The knitted bike was nice, don't you think?
Going home, I really needed to try out my new winder-stick. The pretty skein of Blue Face Leicester from Fleece Artist became a nice ball. Maybe that will keep me from giving that color of yarn away as a present? I really love the color, you know.
The result looked a lot like a very nice, bit yarn-lollipop!

Zombie!
Since I had that beautiful pattern book last week, I thought some of you may have gotten the desire to knit a little zombie?
Just a tiny little one?
I'm sure someone will be very happy getting it - a smaller or bigger child. You will be surprised!
The pattern is this, and it's actually one of the front-models from the book. Very charming, if you ask me, with his guts hanging out.

Undskyld mange gange. Det er lidt svært kun uden computer.
Det går stadig godt på Fanø. Travlt, men godt.
To my great horror, I now see that Blogpress posted an empty post! I'm so sorry. It's a bit difficult without the computer.
Fanø is still great. Busy, but great. Yesterday was workshop-day, and we also managed a little trip to Sønderho.
I went to a workshop with Lene Holme Samsøe. She is one of the best and most productive Danish designers!
We learned some less well known patterns and could see most designs from her books. It was fantastic!
Of course we also plathed our gift game. There was even a birthday present for me! You should have seen that yesterday in that stupid empty post!
Today we are going home. First we will visit Jane in Ho Strik. That is what I told myself all day yesterday, when visiting all the little shops. 'Remember how we will visit Jane. Remember it!'
So my yarn-shopping will wait a few hours. I hope.

Tonight I'm traveling to Fanø. It is almost a yearly ritual, which doesn't make it even a small bit less good!
Since I'm going to Fanø, I guess I have to start "Fanø" for my sister-in-law, don't you think?
How I'll manage to cast on almost 400 stitches in the middle of chit-chat and "hygge" is a very good question, but I can try!
First I'll spend the day playing doctor at the "Health days". It will also be nice. And fun!

(Vist endda uden at rødme.)
Til "En, der strikker meget".
Han var så endt med denne her!
My nephew, who is 20, came to visit. He bought me a birthday present! In a bookstore he had asked for knitting books. (I don't even think he blushed.)
For "Someone, who knits a lot".
He ended up with this one!
Even though he very quickly told me it could be exchanged, I guess he was very happy with his choice of gift.
So was I, actually. This is unbelievable! Not just coming up with the patterns and references for different films, even though this task really must have been time-consuming.
Men navnene på mønstrene? Virkelig? "Brudens mor"?
Det er da fantastisk! Alle detaljerne er også fuldstændigt skønne.
But the names for the patterns? Really? "Mother of the bride"?
It's fantastic! All the details are also really great.
Men denne her skal IKKE byttes!
The funniest part is the photos. They must have had so much fun making scenes with the dolls in the different photos!
I never owned a zombie-pattern-book before. But this one STAYS! It is just too funny.
The very big question is, whether some of the babies in the family are in need of knitted dolls......

Tempelblomst 2
Number 2 temple flower is done. It was much quicker to do than the first one, and still I think it was slow at the end. But now it's done!
It's made from Rowan felted tweed, Madelinetosh prairie and Fyberspates scrumptious lace, a total of 525 grams. I used needles size 4 and 5 mm. It's a little thicker than the one I made for myself, but I guess that's fine enough.
Farven er ca. sådan her.
The colors is like this. Now it's washed and wonderful and ready to go with me to the US in a few weeks. Oh - I can't wait to see them again!
