Garn / Yarn
In New York, I bought some yarn. Not, because I needed, but how often do you get to go to New York? This first yarn was actually something I stumbled across. On our walk to Brooklyn Bridge, we passed a small "Farmers Market", and really only entered, because my sister saw the sign on the closed door and wanted som warm apple cider. (I do think you need to live in the US in other to notice the possibility of this. I would never have given it a second thought!)
Behind the door was a really cozy shop - and a basket of yarn! It was local, very soft yarn in 50% wool, 50% alpaca. In the nicest yellow color which you can't really see on the photo. My nephew believed it would become socks for him. As if!
Jeg fandt grønt og gråt "Dos Tierras" fra Malabrigo. Den grå var lige lagt på hylden, hvor den så hurtigt kom af igen.
I also paid a visit to Knitty City, which is located right behind the Natural History museum. There were so many people in there! The table was filled with talking, knitting people. Very, very nice place and atmosphere.
I found green and grey "Dos Tierras" from Malabrigo. The grey had just arrived in the shop, actually, but quickly left again.
Og det skal jo så være noget til mig, forstås......
For Christmas, I had 3 skeins of the same kind of yarn in red-yellow-green-brown colors. So I actually looked for something to combine with this. I like the contrast with the green and grey. And it's going to be something for me, you know.....
Oh well - I also bought another knitting bag. This one will not easily get lost, being so orange.....
