Skt. Hans

Yesterday was Saint John (Johannes shortened to Hans in Danish), the midsummer celebration, and for once, I didn't have to get up early for work next day AND I had visitors with a car!
So we went to Northern Zealand and looked around. It was SO nice!
The young American liked Frederiksborg Castle, and all we old people loved watching him taking photos.

We went on to Heatherhill, the beautiful small area very close to the coast, that I last visited a lot of years ago. I believe it was like 15-20 years ago.
It was as tiny and beautiful as I remember. It's so pretty by the coast.

We went on along the coast, trying to find a bonfire. At Hornbæk, we stopped and were lucky - there was a nice, big bonfire with the midsummer song and the most amazing sunset.
It was the most beautiful Skt. Hans I had for years, and spent in the best company. So from now on, the days will become shorter again. It's a bit sad, but that is how the cycle of the year goes......
