En hel masse afslapning / A lot of relaxing
I was on time for the plane and had a very peaceful trip to the US. With my bag filled with candy, just as usual! It is almost a year since I went to Ann Arbor last time, and I was kind of excited whether Bailey would remember at all.
I do think he remembered me a little bit, but he CERTAINLY remembered the liver paté! As soon as he saw the box, he got so excited. Although he couldn't have been able to smell anything through the wrapping.
So he is competing with my youngest nephew about who loves liver paté the most!
One of the first things on the vacation-list was to get a pedicure. Always nice, but a bit scary to have someone messing with my toes! The result was pretty, anyway, and we even got to watch a bit of the football match Denmark-France.
We also had ice cream. (You know - it IS summer!) A new type of ice cream with the cream being frozen on a very cold metal plate and then scraped off, forming little rolls. The most freshly made ice cream I ever had, and really yummy.
Men inden vi kom så langt, fik min nevø lov til at spille på klokkespil. En hel melodi! Det var sjovt at se, og jeg tror, han nød det.
Yesterday, we went to Kerrytown in downtown Ann Arbor. I wanted to visit the Farmer's market and see the Amish. (Yes. I'm like that!) Since we were there, we COULD also visit "Spun", the lovely yarn shop. But before we got that far, my nephew got to play the bells. An entire song! It looked like great fun, and I think he enjoyed.
My niece is pretty smart. In the yarn shop, SHE also went looking for yarn and found some very delicious stuff that she would like a sweater from. We even found a pattern, so I guess I just need to put down the baby-stuff and get going!
This was the tower with the bells my nephew was playing for everybody to hear! Cool!
My niece celebrates her birthday soon, and she would like to dye the yarn for her socks. So I (only for her sake, of course!) ordered a bit of yarn and dye from Knitpicks, and then we dyed in the oven. Due to a lack of microwaves. The yarn had one and a half hour on 300 degrees Fahrenheit (equals 150 degrees celsius), and today, I guess she will be very impatient regarding when it will be completely dry and I will start knitting......
