The socks for my youngest nephew are FINALLY done! They took more than 2 months to knit, but now they are here. I had SO many reservations about these socks. The pattern was a bit difficult. I didn't like the yarn. Over all, I just wasn't sure if they would be good, and then I had plenty of other stuff to knit at the same time.
The yarn was bought in Philadelphia and Doylestown. I'm not really sure if the yarn is really superwash, and I doubt if they will survive a standard wash. Usually, I use yarn that I know will survive a standard wash (had a few accidents), but my nephew insisted on the striped yarn, and I take responsibility for the blue yarn. I do think they turned out very nice. The combination of striped and mono-color yarn is so pretty!
I made the leg really, really long. As you can see, it's a bit longer than the foot.
But - as Ann-Jeanet made clear to me - these are NOT knee-high socks! Especially not considering the terribly long legs my nephew has.
But this is as long as socks will be when I knit them. If I am to survive mentally, you know.
The pattern is called "Theremin Krazy Kable Socks", and I can't remember the name of the yarn. Only that it was expensive and might not survive a wash.
The socks weigh 130 grams, and now I just want to see if I'll be able to finish yet another pair before this year has ended.......
