Afrika smækbukser / Africa overalls
Indeni er der et fint mønster på smækbukser som var som jeg gerne ville have den. Det var totalt et fund!
You've heard about my Africa-fabric which I wanted to sew from to little I. She needed pants. I didn't like my patterns for pants, but on a vintage book sale I stumbled across this book from the 80'es. That I somehow remember!
Inside, there is this nice pattern for overalls that were like I wanted them. It was like finding a treasure!
Men jeg er SÅ tilfreds! Jeg synes de er helt absurd nuttede og fine, og jeg glædede mig vildt til at give dem væk!
So to make a long story short, it ended up with these two overalls. One of them (on the right) was made with just Africa-fabric and ribbed edges, and the other one was made in double fabric - jeans-fabric as the outer layer, the Africa-fabric as the inner layer. I had to cut off some width, since the double fabric makes it a bit more stiff.
But I'm SO happy with my work! I think they are like crazy cute and pretty, and I was really looking forward to giving them away!
Det værste var, at det næsten var lidt trist at stille symaskinen på plads igen. Måske er jeg ved at blive afhængig.......
In the back, the suspenders are crossed. I have to admit that sewing on the elastic band was somewhat a challenge. But it ended out really well, and I do think these overalls have all the space needed for a diaper-covered bottom.
The worst part was actually putting away the sewing machine again. Maybe I'm about to developing a dependence......
