As part of the vacation, we spend 5 days in Chicago. A city that I only visited in the airport and when I stayed overnight at a hotel very close to the same airport.
We live quite some distance from downtown, but in a very, very nice place with plenty of space for everyone.
The center is only a train-ride away, and yesterday, we paid our first visit. Like in all the movies, the train were going around well above ground.
My niece put on her birthday present - the "Danmark"-t-shirt. It is nice to see how she likes it!
We walked around a lot and saw quite a few things. Among others, we saw "The Bean" in Millenium Park, where there were great opportunities for a weird selfie. This piece of art is impressive!
We also visited a candy shop, in which the candy was sorted according to colors. Really pretty.
I also sneaked into a yarn shop. Some disappointment! Everything was packed in plastic bags, and when I paid for my 2 skeins of sock yarn, it was terribly expensive. But I guess that is what happens if you insist on buying German sock yarn from Russian ladies in the US.......
