At finde strømpegarn / Finding sockyarn
When I felt most sorry for myself about a week ago, I got a wild urge to buy some comfort-yarn. Just because it helps.
There is so much beautiful hand-dyed yarn out there, and a single skein of sock yarn is something you could always use, right?
Well. I've been thinking this quite a few times in my life, so instead I found the hand dyed sock yarn and put it on display. So beautiful! Yarn for socks or baby clothes or a tiny shawl.
Of all the yarn, I picked 3 skeins of yarn that could be my next pair of socks. A pretty green skein, some multi-colored and some blue. The rest went back in the closet.
First, I picked the multi colored and wound it. I did think I recognized the colors, and I was right! My 7 year old socks were made from this very color, which looks a bit different after 7 years of washing and wearing.......
They are well worn and would need to be changed soon, but it did make my need for multi-colored socks shrink a bit.
So instead I picked the green yarn. With a bit of cashmere. And a splash of pink. I also found a pretty pattern and can cast on. Just need to make a few more squares first......
