My vacation in the US is not in connection with any kind of vacation for the Frikke circus, but I actually get to spend luxurious time with them - an entire day with every member of the family, because they take a day off each of them. On Wednesday, my sister took a day off, and then we went to New York! It's kind of easy - there is a train from Hamilton station, which is about an hours ride from their home, taking us to the center of town.
We started by having lunch on a Dim Sum restaurant. SO delicious!
We were going to see a musical and happened to pass by Times Square, which was less crowded than normal. It was lovely going to New York when it wasn't super warm or super crowded.
We were watching "Bad Cinderella", which was new to both of us. We were puzzled about SO MANY students in the streets, and especially when they came into the theater. It turned out that some (very rich, I guess) people had decided to give theater tickets to students in New York City this very day, so we ended up being there with a lot of teenagers. Most of them afro-americans or latinoes.
It was SO MUCH FUN!!!! In the beginning, they weren't too interested, but suddenly they were sitting on the edges of their seets and ended up screaming and clapping like it was a concert. I never experienced anything like it. It was great!
So, thank you, Henriette, for a truly wonderful day!
